Luigi Tega was born in a historic 16th-century olive press in the Menotre Valley, in Umbria, on a street that is still called Via dei Frantoi today – a testament to the deep connection between the olive press, the local area and the people who live there.

Our story is one of extra virgin olive oil, research and experimentation. In the 1990s, we began studying individual cultivars and producing our first single-varietal oils, seeking to understand how each variety could express its unique characteristics through the oil.

This same curiosity has now led us to develop Oleassoluti: the very highest quality flavoured extra virgin olive oils in which botanicals and oil come together through methods inspired by science and perfumery. These are not simply flavoured oils, but a new interpretation of what extra virgin olive oil can become, with the aim of bringing out the full aromatic identity of each botanical ingredient.

For us, every product stems from a question: why do it this way, and how can we do it better? Questioning what we do, experimenting and giving people the space to find new solutions is part of the way we work.

Concordia et Experimentum – the pursuit of harmony and constant experimentation – is the guiding principle behind Luigi Tega.

Our extra virgin olive oils (EVO) represent our expression of the olive and the land. The Oleassoluti range reflects our exploration of what that EVO oil can become.
